Sri is a textile gallery in Brooklyn, New York, USA, specializing in antique Japanese folk textiles, highlighting the indigo-dyed cotton utilitarian fabrics and boro--or patched and mended--textiles of old Japan.

i can imagine just how those cloths feel. i spent many nights sleeping under favorite crumbling quilts before i knew “boro”.

I’ve never seen anything like this before. Who knew. Will my mended dish towels become art? Maybe.
The blues were just fantastic, soothing to the eye, peaceful to the mind. Makes me want to go to Japan and pick up some scraps. Does Japan have Goodwills?
